Hello! I'm Felicity and I'm a motherhood photographer based in Fort Worth, Texas. Snuggle up, get cozy, grab a cup of coffee (or an iced chai tea latte in my case) and enjoy this showcase of my latest work. I'm excited to give you a little peek into my life and the moments and milestones I capture for my clients.
I haven’t always lived in the Fort Worth area. How does the saying go though? I got here as fast as I could! I grew up in Michigan and I’ve only called the Lone Star State home for the past eight years. Moving down to the South from the Midwest, there were a lot of things I didn’t understand. I had never eaten a fish taco, I didn’t own cowboy boots, I didn’t know kolaches existed (gasp), I thought people were pulling my leg when they told me dill pickle shave ice was a real thing, and I definitely didn’t understand why people got so fired up about bluebonnets. What’s all the fuss about, anyway?
I might not be a native Texan, but this year, I can finally say I’ve acclimated to the weather and I understand the obsession with bluebonnets. I spent the early part of April keeping my eyes peeled for the first blooms to sprout up in Fort Worth. Right around Easter the flowers started to put on a great show. I slapped some bunny ears on my son and we went out to get my first bluebonnet shots of the season. Those were quickly followed by more photographs of my client’s adorable children. Cute kids in fields of flowers – sign me up.
Sidenote: I’ve managed to get photos of Graham for three years in a row in those bunny ears. He’s going to let me do that for at least another ten years, right?
Springtime is definitely my favorite time in Texas. I’ll be missing this pleasant weather and gorgeous landscape when it’s a zillion degrees outside this summer. I wish bluebonnet season lasted all year round. Since it doesn’t, I’ve already got my calendar marked for next April.
