Katie & Corrie | Fort Worth Motherhood Photographer

I had so much fun playing in Fort Worth’s Oakmont Park with my lovely neighbor and her adorable baby girl. I get to share in motherhood with some pretty amazing women. Katie and Corrie were kind enough to be my test models as I was scouting a new location to offer my clients. We found the ideal spot for motherhood mini sessions and I can’t wait to get eight more mommas in front of my camera. I was so glad Katie agreed to location scout with me. I knew that with these two beauties and a sun-kissed setting, we’d make magic. Katie has seemingly effortless style (her dress came from her very own online boutique). I love that she came to our session in a maxi dress. Long, full-length, flowy dresses and skirts look amazing on camera because they bring extra movement to the photos.

Can we talk about Corrie for a minute? Babies don’t come any cuter than this little bundle. This might be controversial, but I’m going to say it. I think six to ten months is the most adorable of ages. Infants are great. Toddlers are amazing, but give me a nine month old baby any day of the week. I mean, do you see that red hair, those striking eyes, that perfect pout and those chubby little legs. Stick a bow on me, I’m done. Seriously though, I die at her precious outfit. I’m in love with being a boy-mom, but I could use more hair bows in my life.

Corrie was in a great mood during our session. She was content and interested (she only ate a tiny bit of grass) and that made it easy for Katie and I to chat while I snapped away. Of course, we talked all things motherhood. We shared our current highs and lows, struggles and joys and we both agreed that we’d know we’ve done a good job if we raise kind children. It’s important to us both that we raise kids who include others. I know Katie will succeed – she leads by example.

[…] Katie and her family showed up to their mini session perfectly styled for fall. When you’re wearing buffalo check, plaids and great boots, you know you’re ready for the season. When I’m photographing families with young kids, it usually takes high enery (and bribes) to get the kiddos to cooperate. I mean, I don’t blame the little ones for being nervous. I’d be a little reserved if some lady in a park was making crazy noises and asking me to play in front of her camera. I was gearing up to work for the smiles, but magic happened. Newly four-year-old Fisher had his listening ears on and was ready to cooperate like a champion. He was the perfect little model and he even helped little Corrie get excited about having her pictures taken. Fisher was especially helpful in the pictures we took of just the two kids. He talked calmly to his baby sister, led her by the hand and even stopped a few times to give her a tickle. And she lit up her smile for her big brother. […]
